PRINCIPAL: Rachel Hayward an ex – professional ballet dancer who has enjoyed a varied and exciting career in dance. Miss Hayward danced with Ballet Creations of London directors Ursula Hageli (formally principal dancer with the Royal Ballet now Ballet Mistress to the Company) and Richard Slaughter (principal dancer with the Royal Ballet company and Stuttgart Ballet). Miss Hayward also danced with London City Ballet before embarking on a successful career in commercial theatre.
Miss Hayward holds Fellowship teaching status with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and is an examiner for the Cecchetti Society. Miss Hayward was awarded the coveted Enricco Cecchetti Diploma in 2003 and has a Certificate in Education from Chester University.
Miss Hayward is the founder and has been the director of the Hayward Dance Academy and prides the school with happy, confident students who possess an excellent level of technique and performance quality.
Miss Hayward has frequent engagements as a guest teacher at many prestigious academic and vocational schools and colleges throughout the North West and teaches on both the Cecchetti and the British Ballet Organisation Scholars and Associate courses which further the tuition of talented, young dancers.
MAKUINI WRIGHT: Makuini Wright CT.VCM
Originally from New Zealand and studied alongside Dame Kiri Te Kanawa. Makuini’s all round theatre skills introduced her to NZ Radio reading short plays for broadcast to schools, followed by drama & musical plays in television an theatre before travelling to England.
Over the years Makuini has presented her ‘Ladies of Soul’ in residencies throughout the UK, Malta, Tenerife, Majorca, Cyprus, Dubai and on Cruise Ships around the world.
Having settled in Warrington Makuini is a most sought after vocal coach for schools and private students.

Trained at The Hammond School, Chester and at English National Ballet School. Currently dancer with Australian National Ballet.
History of the Academy
Founded in 2000 the ‘Hayward Dance Academy’ has grown in reputation and stature with students enjoying success in examinations, national competitions and scholarship schemes run by the ISTD. Students attend weekly classes and acquire the skills required to perform many different dance genres. All students get their chance to take part in specially choreographed ‘Open Day’ events and the Academy’s Annual performances. Whether a child takes up dance classes to build their confidence and gain new friends or for the more serious student who would like to pursue a career in dance and further their education in the performing arts, the ‘Hayward Dance Academy’ is the perfect place to begin!
